ABOUT ANKE

I am an award-winning director and producer with credits across theatre, television and radio, based in London and Berlin.

I direct multi-camera broadcasts of theatre performances. With National Theatre Live, The Old Vic and Bridge Theatre, I have produced and directed content for live broadcasts of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Present Laughter, and Small Island, bringing the performances of casts including Sally Field, Gillian Anderson, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Andrew Scott to global audiences.

I have made documentaries for BBC ONE / TWO / FOUR, Channel 4, PBS, ZDF, and BBC Radio 4 among others, filming in Europe, the US, and India, among them Project Nazi: A Blueprint for Evil, and The Nobel Peace Prize: Barack Obama, and working with talent such as Matt Frei, Michael Portillo, Sheila Hancock, and Fintan O'Toole.

Having trained with the BBC as a Producer / Director, I am passionate about visually appealing and inventive story-telling based on in-depth research and journalistic rigour.

As a mentor, I want to ensure new generations continue to make high-calibre programmes. Leading by example, I champion diversity behind, as well as in front, of the camera.
